Job Description

Our client is an international provider of accounting and corporate services, supporting multinational groups, investment structures, and fast-growing businesses across multiple jurisdictions.

As part of their continued growth and expansion of services in Belgium, the organisation is seeking to appoint an Accounting Director to lead and further develop the accounting function.

Duties

  • ITAA certification - ACCOUNTING CERTIFICATION is mandatory !
  • At least 5 to 10 years of solid experience in the same or similar role (preferably within a Big4 or Big10)
  • At ease with international exposure (clients & team)
  • Solid people management skills
  • Great communication skills in English & French or English & Dutch

Skills & Knowledge

The tasks include, but are not limited to

  • Provide leadership to the accounting department to ensure delivery against operational KPIs, through coaching, performance management, and team engagement.
  • Review statutory filings, including VAT and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure financial reporting is prepared in accordance with Belgian GAAP and/or IFRS, as applicable.
  • Coordinate and follow up on client audits, acting as a key point of contact for auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships at a senior level, setting expectations, addressing issues or escalations, and ensuring proactive and transparent communication.
  • Support commercial activities through the preparation of fee proposals and service offering documentation.
