Legal Counsel Insurance

Our client, a leading organization in the insurance sector, is seeking an experienced Legal Expert to join their specialized and dynamic legal team. This team, composed of six experts, supports operational and commercial teams on legal matters related to Non-Life Retail Insurance products, including auto, fire, and family liability insurance.

• Providing legal advice and drafting documents related to Non-Life insurance products for individuals.
• Offering legal expertise to operational teams, including Underwriting, Claims, and Insurance Procurement, particularly for drafting, reviewing, and terminating supplier contracts and other legal documents.
• Identifying operational risks and proposing process improvements.
• Drafting legal notes and guides based on legislation and case law, as well as training managers on legal developments.
• Supporting teams on matters related to compliance, privacy, and GDPR.
• Conducting legal monitoring and compiling monthly legislative and case law updates for the relevant departments.
• Regularly updating your legal knowledge through fieldwork and training.

• Education: Master’s degree in Law.
• Experience: minimum 4 years as a Legal Expert specializing in Non-Life insurance.
• Languages: Fluent in Dutch or French, with a strong command of the other national language.
• Skills: Structured, autonomous, capable of setting priorities and meeting deadlines, with excellent teamwork skills.
• Soft Skills: Team player, solution-oriented, and willing to share your knowledge and expertise.

Additional Assets:

• Specialization in insurance or Privacy / GDPR.
• In-depth knowledge of auto, fire, or family liability insurance.
• Passive knowledge of English.
